Archive of Invitation from 2017:

THE GATHERING

Come together with commUnity in the Sacred Cherokee foothills to celebrate, transform, and co-create during one of the most powerful celestial events of our lives, this total Solar Eclipse in North America. Revered and held sacred by cultures around the world for its power and potency, the Solar Eclipse is an opportunity to heal our darkest shadows, and reveal our deepest light. In this journey together, we will experience the beautiful dynamics of Yang and Yin, Light and Dark, Day and Night, Masculine and Feminine, and discover the empowering alchemy they create together.

THE LOCATION

The Cherokee Foothills Eclipse Gathering will be held at Hidden Hills, a gorgeous property in Marietta, South Carolina. A stunningly beautiful series of fields, ponds, and streams surrounded by forests and rolling hills, Hidden Hills is a perfect location to experience the Eclipse, which will remain in totality for over 2 minutes in this area.

THE ECLIPSE

On Aug. 21, 2017, people across the United States will see the sun disappear behind the moon, turning daylight into twilight, causing the temperature drop rapidly and revealing massive streamers of light streaking through the sky around the silhouette of the moon. On that day, America will fall under the path of a total solar eclipse.

The so-called Great American Total Solar Eclipse will darken skies all the way from Oregon to South Carolina, along a stretch of land about 70 miles (113 kilometers) wide. People who descend upon this “path of totality” for the big event are in for an unforgettable experience. [space.com]

THE EXPERIENCE

From a diverse range of musical performances to workshops, ceremonies, visionary arts, and more, the Cherokee Foothills Eclipse Gathering will be a weekend crafted by community, for community. We are currently accepting applications for all types of participation to be provided within the main schedule, and also welcome spontaneous co-creative and artistic expressions throughout the event.

CEREMONY

We will be honoring the sacred Cherokee land that we will gathering on, and the journey through the event will help us to reveal and acknowledge the deepest spaces of transformation and healing on the planet.

The Eclipse Ceremony will synchronize and follow the wave of collaborators at the Oregon Eclipse event (50,000+ people), through independent ceremonialists across North America, to our ceremony in the Cherokee Foothills, and finally to ceremony being held in Charleston, South Carolina.

The ceremonies will seek to reveal, clear, and resolve residual energies and tensions in North America around the slaughter and incarceration of Native peoples, and the slavery and incarceration of African peoples in these lands. We will collectively send a wave of Love, Acceptance, Grace, Compassion, Forgiveness, and Acknowledgement across North America, synchronized with the Total Eclipse to transform and transmute the painful history of this continent and restore a greater acceptance among and between all peoples.
